It blows like hell out of the south all week and fades by the weekend. It looks like Monday will be good again.

Crap!

I know what you mean! I tried to squeeze in a few hours on the water tonight, in anticipation of not sailing this weekend but even that didn't work. IWindsurf showed 17-23 at Pleasure Bay around 5:30. I was there about 45 minutes later but it was pretty light. I never quite planed. I think the meter for Pleasure Bay reads a little high.

Don't worry about it. These SW winds are bringing in lots of fog which makes the sailing highly hazardous. There's a huge fog bank sitting off shore. I've been caught out in a fog once and will never repeat the experience if I can. Not only can you get slammed by a motor craft, but you can get lost at sea without any trouble. This also reminds me of one of my bad experiences in California. I spent a few days hiking in Yosemite. When I came out of the Sierra's into the central valley I saw that it was overlain by this tremendous fog. The radio was stating that it was the largest fog bank in the world. I forget where I was headed, but it was probably the coast. We couldn't see more than a few feet in front of us on the interstate. A semi came up behind me and was tailgating me for miles. I didn't dare change lanes as the traffic in the other lane was thick as the fog. The hiway traffic in Cali is insane.

Work hasn't kept me off the water this week. Caught a nasty cold, and I've been weasing and coughing up gunk. I promised my wife that I wouldn't sail till it cleared up. Probably the correct thing to do, but very frustrating.

Chrissm, tell your wife of the healing powers of salt water. Sounds like BS but everytime I've sailed while on the cusp of a sore throught, it seemed to clear right up. Really.

I missed almost a month due to a bad cold last fall. I caught it at the dentist's. The hygenist took her mask off after the cleaning and wanted to get in my face and talk about beaches. Whatever, you guys are prabably half my age and will recover quickly from these viruses.

Well, it's Monday morning and the forecast for Tuesday is mid to upper twenties out of the south. Cough, cough, wheez....... I think I am coming down with one of those twenty-four hour colds.

Ahem, let's not forget a really thick layer of sunscreen too. Wouldn't want to come back after the "ick" with a telling sunburn/tan, now would we? 8^)

Well, it's Karma. My one important appointment pushed me off until Friday. What a bummer. Now I do not have an excuse to stay and work.

Gonna blow close 30 from the looks of it. I hope some of you guys get out tomorrow.
