I suppose kiters could go out since the winds up that high are probably still good on a NW wind.

BUt, does NW wind come down enough behind the big hill and buildings on the shore for windsurfing?

ANyone sail there on a NW? Does the reading on the sensor match the water conditions?

Piller Pt (HMB) harbor can be good on NW, but it's usually holey because of the buildings. Rig on the big side to get thru them. I sail there in winter on NW wind with big stuff, just to stay in shape. In winter the NW ocean wind usually can't make it across the hill into the bay, but at HMB I can often sail with 9.0 or even sometimes 7.3. The sensor is actually pretty good. SE storm wind can be great.
In the spring and summer the bay is much better. But if you're less experienced and like very flat water, it's actually a good place in spring/summer too.

Kev,
Launch at the same pier, NW wind is opposite direction. The wind
is good after you go west and away from the shadow of the house.
The cleanest wind is out in the middle between the old pier and the beach by the huge cliff. (where you normally freestyle on SE wind).
