Anybody planning on sailing on Nantucket this summer? Wave sailing is lonely there and downright dangerous with only two of us, my buddy and I. If you are going to be there anytime this summer chime in, I could suggest some places to stay or sail. Some of the best spots I have ever been to, shame that its mostly kiters I sail with. Also, maybe we could put together some fun competitions or something on the cape where everyone can drive, is the king of the cape thing on this year? Just a thought

My wife and I took a windsurfing vacation on Nantucket about 11 or 12 years ago. It was fantastic but expensive. We can't really afford it these days. I'd be up for some friendly wave sailing get together on the Cape, R.I. or south shore, (weekends only). I'm not competition level but I like getting out there and going for it. Or I could man my new camara and see if I can get some good shots.

im not up to competition level either, but it would be great to get a bunch of people sailing together and really show off the sport. Ya staying on Nantucket sucks if you rent or whatever, i work down there at a windsurfing rental place.

Hey Nate,
I live there and havent been sailing as much the last few years as I should. Like any place some years are windy and some aren't.
Keep in touch and we will catch up for some waves some day.

>>I could suggest some places to stay or sail.<< As Scooper states, it's an expensive island, and I doubt if you are offering free lodging. There are so many girl from Nantucket jokes out there, I suppose you don't want to hear any real stories about girls from Nantucket, do you?

well maybe if I liked the person I would offer places to stay, especially if they help run a learn to windsurf clinic or something during the mornings. and I agree with rationalnational that some years are better than others, summer is especially hit or miss, although last summer was especially good, sometimes the seabreeze doesnt kick in as well. spring and fall are usually great, early fall being the best for water temperature ect, but thats when Im in school.

Let me add this. Force Five used to be a windsurfing shop, but when I visited the Island last, I found that they had dropped the hardgoods. I received an invite from the shop in Vineyard Haven to do the crossing and visit them. The e-mail stated that one could sail right to their shop. Nevil Sayre dropped his kid's camp, so their may be a niche there to fill.

ya foce 5 is lame, just a clothing store now. I work at Community sailing we have all their old rental stuff, really beat, but some new boards, begginer ones and some rental sails. We give the occational private lesson or rental, but its a shame how the sport has died out there. I would love to get more windsurfers sailing there

Inland Sea, Sailworld. Theyll get shite over here in no time.
Plenty of people still regularly ride out here. It's a great place to windsurf. The kiting is fantastic. Don't forget the faggy shorts |

nateme16, I see you log Hingham as your address. Have you ever sailed Nantasket? I used to sail in the bay, putting in out by the Gut. An architect I knew built a great house out there for himself but eventually sold it.
