We stay there every July. The trick is the tide has to be high enough. If the large Rock out from Village by the sea is covered there is no danger at all at Maui sunset. there is a slot of deeper water and agree you sail at about 10 to 11 o clock if straight out is noon. If you can see the spot at very low tide when all the shallows are visible it is obvious after that. The reef to the left needs to be completely under and is a real bear if you walk across it. But thats where the waves are. when south swell comes up to 5 feet or bigger and wind is reasonably good it gets Very crowded but is still great. Good Luck |
