I saw these quotes on a kiting forum yesterday- One last thing. Windsurfing in flat water is the f-ing lamest sport ever. It all seriousness, it should be legal to shoot any windsurfer in the TD zone. I make sure I spray every water starting windsurfer I pass by. When Im ruller of the world it will be legal to shoot the windsurfer in this photo. These posts may have been meant as a joke but, as I am primarily a windsurfer, it makes me feel uncomfortable and discouraged. After all, I am sometimes the only windsurfer out in a crowd of kiters these days. I like to think we have something in common. |

Given our presumably greater life expectancy, we may have the last laugh.

I guess I just have to keep saying it. The few should not ruin it for he many. I have buds in both groups, and most do both or started out as windsurfers.
The biggest problem is the the younger kiters who just want to show off. To show off they need to be seen. To be seen they need to be near shore. There lies the only problem I have had. And if you think youg male adults are dangerous kiters, check out the accident statistics for them when they are driving. They scare me more on the road than on the water.

By the same token there was a windsurfer/stalker on Maui bout 3 years ago who rammed a kiter.....went to jail i think....Haters are haters, its a big powerful ocean,
and karma usually sorts it out
i like sailing next to my buds who kite, but get edgy when i see out- a-towners, cause i dont know their skils etc

wow...that is depressing. I came across a similar attitude sometimes when I go surfing...actually, I was in the lineup the other day and some neanderthal was spraying about when he was old and didnt give a f---(apparently when you get old you stop caring about anything, although I dont exactly understand how that works) he would shoot beginers going for waves.
Dont let it get you down, it is just a young male thing. You got to figure if people like this lead torturous lives, because after all, if kiting/windsurging on the water doesnt make you a happier person, there really isnt a whole lot of hope for you. I am sure most kiters arent like that. |

If you check the recently published findings in the New England Journal of Medicine youll find that out of a test group kitesurfers had much small boards than windsurfers in that same group. |

Well there is always the old saying old age and treachery will win out over youth and skill anyday. Then there is the famous quote by Rodney King; cant we all just get along. I think the answer is somewhere in between the two. What these goons need to realize is that sometime they have to get out of the water and back to their car. Thats where we see just how strong their convictions really are. |

My last two times at Larkspur I saw windsurfers taking the time to help kiters who had become separated from their boards. I guess a lot of kiters dont use leashes because of the danger of getting decapitated by their own fin as the board comes flying back at them after a wipe-out. What do they have against us anyway? Speed envy? |
