Seems the numbers have dropped off, however there are a core of sailors in the nj area. Seems they all have other interests, but with a good day they all come out, usually. I share the same story, started in 85 etc. Got a trailer full of gear, sail whenever i can, and get really pissed at our i windsurf forecasters when i commit to the drive to the shore and wind up pulling splinters from my but. It can get really lonely at sandy hook on a windy day in january, but those are sometimes the best sessions. I also find that some of the more committed sailors can flex their work hours. Im stuck in the 8 to 5, so mostly its the weekend deal for me.
Keep on sailing. Ill be relocating to southern maine in the next year, so theres one less sailor soon.
