Hi,
I rubbed a sail against soem rocks and I have a few small snags along the luff sleeve of my sail. Do you know if there is a good tapa that I cand buy or any other advise to prevent the holes from getting bigger?
Thanks! |

Check the sewing dept. at your local WalMart, Kmart, etc. Look for a curved needle and some heavy nylon thread. Carefully sew the rip back together. You can use another piece of material if needed as a patch. There is very little actual tenson on the sleeve itself. Ive repaired small rips/tears this way and have yet to have them fail. |

I have used Iron On knee patches (also from Wal Mart) like you would use on jeans with good results on the luff sleeve. If you sew the sleeve, you have to be careful not to sew it shut so the mast will still go in. |

Unless the tip of the mast is snagging the holes when inserting in the luff sleave, dont bother fixing it.
The holes will not get worse while sailing, there is no tension on the sleave, other than maybe the top few inches. |
