My most frequently used board is a 2004 JP Super X 82L, I use is with 5.6-4.6 sails and find it is a great all around board which is super fast. My problem is for me at 69kg or 145lbs it is a rough ride in choppy waters like Crissy, 3rd or Rio and becomes a real handful to gybe. Has anyone used the 2006 86l version and seen any difference in its handling? I would love to keep the speed, range and planning ability but have a board which is easier to gybe and ride through chop.

Cheers

Most guys our size who are into going fast and jumping high use the FSWs for its easier handling and smoother ride....especially if youre inclined to sail Crissy-Sherman-3rd ebbs.
Probably faster when powered on ebb tides, FSW just does everything nicer....for SFBay sailing, anyways.
