Google, man ... Google.
<Columbia Gorge rock climbing> and eat your heart out. I can think of few sports this place doesnt offer. This is the place the mantra Bring All Your $#!+ was invented for:
Surfsailing (the coast is part of the Gorge, IMO).
White water.
X bikes, where X = any kind of bikes.
Fishing, from crappies to 1,500-pound sturgeon in the Columbia to deep-sea fishing.
Any wind- or gas-powered water toy you can tow behind a Hummer.
Golf. Lots of cheap golf.
Land sailors of all types.
Snow sports, all summer most years.
Im sure you could find some good remote highways for road luge.
The worlds biggest bookstore.
Beer pubs.
**** restaurants and pasta joints.
The biggest selection of new and used windsurfing gear most people have ever seen.
Last time I looked there were GURLS here.
Artsy fartsy shops of all sorts.
Several very nice movie theaters.
Waterfalls.
The most beautiful and (totally) accessible beaches in the U.S. -- maybe North America are just 2-3 hours away.
And staying here is FREE to anyone who camps self-contained (which is by FAR the best way to do the Gorge IMO. Being chained to a motel is a major bummer when you played til dark a hunnerd miles away that day and an even bigger bummer if someone in your party makes you stop playing before dark just because ... your motels a hunnerd miles away.)

Getting bored here is a personal problem.
