I will be happy to bring it up. |
as long as you're taking requests, is there anyway you could just get windsurfing banned? |

And if you had an official organization, of one sport or the other, you could vote to do just that.
Its really a shame the Dennis Windsurfing Association fell out of popularity and support. Much effort & finance went into that endeavour, supported by the windsurfing industry and private donations. The town recieved all of the donations to build the boardwalk and fencing, as requested by the town. We donated this as a gift in good faith.
Its times like this that people forget, including the town themselves.
This recent event will certainly not be the last at this popular sailing destination.

Nope, kiters are still the bastard 1/2 brothers of windsurfers and will always be grouped together by those in the mainstream.
I love how you kooks just brush off how the kiter moron that somehow managed to hit the car with his inflatable friend. I'm sure that's the only tidbit all the locals will remember if they have a chance to vote on banning all sailing sports at Dennis Beaches.
I actually remember some hispanic kook hitting a car with a kite 10 years ago at WD, and not much came of it, but that was well before the novelty of kiting wore off. ( and there likey wasn't a 1/2 dozen kitemares tangled upwind in the swimming area that day. )
Also, If we lose access to WD when there is no longer any reliable wind there due to climate change, what does it really matter? |

Well I am being asked to come to a meeting and I am going.
I do not have the time to be on forums arguing every little minute point.
I will not be representing anyone but myself and will not
Speak for anyone but myself. I will make that clear.
I will be mostly listening to what they have to say and answering the questions asked . I will obviously report back. |

It is forgotten. hopefully it's not a big deal as I suspect it will not be.
For now if poeple could stay out of the swimming area it woud be greatly appreciated as i am fairly certain people are watching. |

At this meeting, I know the focus will be for West Dennis, but according to Harbormaster, if swim bouys are up anywhere at other beaches (and they are on northside Corp) then we must also stay out.
Please inquire about whether bouys will be soon removed, ect. on north side for end of season.
Also, re-read my earlier post regarding the access issues I discussed with Terry (HM) about the Selectmen meeting we had years ago and the understanding of what access right we do currently have at northside beaches.
The Beach Com & HM seem to think we DO NOT have authorized /priviledge access there , regardless of time of year.
Again, the meet we had years ago set that area for our use by Selectmen, for Off Season, with minutes of meeting.
Need this validated! |
