HI,
Just wondering if anyone can give me some insight on windsurfing locations and rental gear in Curacao. I will be going there with my wife December 26th for a week and am wondering if i should bring my own gear or if there are rental places along the way. We will be staying at the Breezes resort in Willemmstad. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave |

I was in Curacao 10 or 12 years ago and hoped to sail while there. At that time there was no rental equipment available on the island at all. One would think that Curacao would get similar winds as Aruba or Bonaire, and maybe sometimes it does, but it didn't happen while I was there, which was a good thing since without gear I would have been frustrated anyway. |

Best bet is if you call the hotel for info. and if sailing is one of the activities
in the island, and if windsurfing is one of them, also if rental gear is available, the place is beautiful and you won't remember windsurfing after all the bikinis around you.
Is hurricane season so i bet you can sail a good windy day. |

Sorry..when I am home in Bonaire I am not online a lot aside from booking trips and my Facebook and Twitter I am in Cape Cod now for a bit so I apologize for the delay. Hilde and Ingmar run a great operation. They have great gear as well. The sailing is ok so if you are heading there just to windsurf, I would not be sure you would be happy. If you are there to immerse yourself in the culture, see the sights AND windsurf, rock on and go for it.
Contact my friends at hilde@windsurfingcuracao.com or ingmar@bulado.com
If you need a place to stay, eating recs, what to do, give me a shout.. _________________ Ann Phelan
