Furtively I placed pen in hand...and loonie in pic.

evans wrote: | Wow that is some retro gear. Sweet!!! | No doubt. I pulled the sail out of a local dump on the cape. It had been in some kind of shed where the mice had eaten into the bag. I repaired the small hole they had made in the leach. I find it sails rather well in that the previous "owners" had never used it. The board is a poly Curtis 320. I brought it with me from N.E. on the roof of the car. It's durable and will take the abuse one can expect not only in travel but in the storage in which I will be leaving. I was able to pack three sails, 7.1, 6.0 and 5.0 that all fit on one mast. That's one advantage to older sails, they aren't mast specific. The 7.1 is more modern a sail and can take serious downhaul. I bought the mast for it and found the other two fit. The 5.0 has a great provenance. A World Taylor-made, it was originally used in the Gorge. I bought it over E-bay and it was shipped to the Cape. Once rigged in high winds, I lost it to a gust and a broken branch punctured the x-ply of the foot. I repaired it. Now it's here in Florida. |

I really like the idea that a guy can pull a sail out of a dumpster, make whatever repairs are necessary and then go out and have as much fun as a guy who paid $600 for a sail. |

Unless you return to the Cape for more dumpster diving. |

You were in Falmouth?

Not a problem for Brucie. He already said he was a sewer ex-spurt, so a little rat poo should be like old home week to him. |

We're having a blast down here at Wabasso. Plenty of sailors turned up for the President's week. Anyone recognize this guy? |
