I, too, prefer W Dennis to Kalmus, especially this season, as you can park and rig a very short walk to the water, the swell is larger and more regular, and (IMHO) it is much more beautiful. On marginal wind days or when I am strapped for time (I figure the drive adds 10 min or so for me to go to WD cf. Kalmus), I sail Kalmus. I say on marginal days because WD often experiences slightly less wind than Kalmus.
In the summer when the plovers are NOT nesting (fortunately not that often these past few years....yay plovers...), they require windsurfers to launch beyond lifeguard station 11, the walk to the water at WD from the rigging area is much longer and Kalmus becomes more attractive. |
