Yesterday I went out at Wood Neck in the late afternoon. I had little wind. My meter was giving me 10 m.p.h. at the shore. I saw two kites out off of Chappy. Then I looked at the archive graph and see 15 to 20 there. Are the winds that different at these locations?

Woodneck beach off of Sippiwissett Road, yes, yes, blah, blah. Used to drive my 4x4 through all those dunes years back. (That was before I changed my name to Markie and moved to Florida to clean pools. Wink )

I'm responding to your post because nobody else will, and I'm your friend.........Very Happy

Brucie, what's up with you, big guy? You must be REALLY pissing off the moderators on the boards.co.uk forum.....Crying or Very sad

Last week they deleted both your "sinbad2" account and your "greenslib" account. Today they eradicated your "anywind" account......Shocked That's THREE aliases vaporized in one week! You've set a record!.....Laughing

Can't you learn to get along with those folks?

I'm beggining to wonder if speedysailor is a ventriloquist and pueno is his dummy. speedy says something, then pueno always responds, like clockwork, and speedy's lips never move...?

That theory has been proposed many times. I find it amusing because it must annoy Brucie to no end. Even though the theory is groundless, you're free to believe what you want.

Hell, on the google forums, Brucie offered a reward for my identity. (And I even asked how much he'd give me, but he wouldn't answer. Whadda surprise.)

Why does I-windsurf have no respect for the quality of posting on their forums? Given the differences here between the Black Beach sensor and the Weather Underground one, I think the Black Beach one is inaccurate based on my own experience.

Au contraire, they obviously do. Why are you insulting and disparaging them, Brucie?

The Chappy sensor can sometimes read higher in an onshore wind (West for W. Falmouth).
Woodneck is usually more true to the B. Bay tower reading, but still subject to thermals and decoupling. Yah just have to be there.
Kiters and windsurfers may do better at Chappy on a SSW or S than at Woodneck. Woodneck is blocked in those directions.
Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps. I don't recommend sailing Wood Neck in a strong N.W., either, unless you like drinking your salt water on the rocks.
