OK I know it has been a cold crappy spring - but 2 weeks before summer solstice and 56degree water....WTF!!?!? This has got to be the coldest water for this time of year ever.
SO I did a little research and produced a graphs since 2000

You might consider investing in a warmer wetsuit, for about $200 you can extend your season comfortably by 3 months or more. I have a 5/3 zipperless surfsuit which I've worn in February in 40 degree gorge water. Right now its downright balmy in that suit, I never feel the cold.
If you're in a 3/2 right now, I can see why you'd think its cold out there.
Feeling cold is A) uncomfortable and takes some of the fun out of it. but more importantly B) is DANGEROUS! Hypothermia sets in very quickly, in the event of a breakdown or long swim this can be deadly. The Columbia current right now is clocked at around 7kts, this is another good reason to be setup for a swim.
Be careful out there, we've had our fair share of fallen windsurfers this past year.

I would enjoy seeing the data provided by Skip2222 but I can't resolve the link. Can anyone help me?

I'll agree that it has been cold for June, but if you had been sailing in March/April it would still be feeling pretty good right now.
It has also been really windy (not crappy) lately. The 3.7 is my most used sail so far this season, and my wife has 8 of 9 days so far this season on her 3.3.

I had an issue also so I backed it up to the following for a "launching spot". Good luck.

If chilly air and water will always produce the incredible record wind and swell we've had this year, I vote for 65 air/55 water from now through December.

So why is the water colder this year? More snowmelt coming off the mountains than usual? Fewer warm sunny days to heat the water up?....
