Dunes/Roosevelt beach just north of half moon bay needs a shower. Thats all!
I would also like a flatter beach like at waddell, since waves like to dump hard w/ a cross shore rip.
However, given all that, since I live just 1 mile from the beach its always always, on the way home!
This spring has seen some awesome winds, warranting the pleaseurable use of my recently purchased 7m Cabrinha Revolver, Half Moon Bay is a wonderful place to kite. Use the bouy wind speed as best indicator for wind at Dunes beach, the harbour is not accurate for Dunes, nor Roosevelt beaches. However if the harbour is sub 10 and the bouy is sub 20 you probably will need a 15m sail. That may have been the common tale of past springs, but this last winter's southerly howlers and the spring winds have made this my favourite area to launch.
If for some reason the wind is not howling there Waddell is only 30-40 mins south (by google measurements) and I like the water there - seems cooler and somehow crisp and cleaner.
