hey there
relatively new to the sport and hope to be out in napeague many times this summer!
was hoping if anybody here could help me answer a few questions:
1. board storage..... is there any way I can store a board somewhere close to napeague??? I'm going to be having a house in montauk for the summer but obviously it'd be really nice to be able to take a train out and not have to haul a board and rig back and forth every weekend...
2. sail quiver.... buying my first set of equipment and I figure a 6.0 (I'm 6'0", 150lbs) -- which is what I used in bonaire comfortably back in february) ... but figure I should get something smaller too ... yes? Perhaps there's even the possibility I could rent just a sail from the truck out there?

| No where to store a board that I know of. A 6.0 is a good middle size sail, one bigger and one smaller should get you by for summer sailing. If you have to just have one sail 6.5 - 7.5 is the call for summer.... |

A few things...
-there are plans for a rental truck to be out there this summer. Contact Windsurfing Hamptons and get the details. Perhaps you can get a deal if you book a board for the entire summer. They're at 631-283-9463...ask for the owner (Jonathan Ford).
-Depending on your size, you should definately plan for a "thermals" sail...the most prevalent winds are 15-18 knots out there, though anything can happen. I weigh 165...if I was going to have two sails out there I'd have a 7.5 and a 6.0.

ended up buying a loft o2 freeride 6.6 ... will buy more later

Good sail choice, a 6.6 will get you many good days out here. Keep an eye on those afternoon SW thermals......
