I've been sailing from Stevenson to Maryhill and it seems to be all old and disgusting men hitting on me day in day out. No women or men really my age.
Where are all the good looking people at? (Darcy Stevenson Claims)

Take a good look at this statement. This is an attack on the Gorge crowd, especially the older males of the sport. If that many people read that thread, then wouldn’t it be easy to assume that many people will label, stereotype, and possibly alienate and treat older men in the Gorge indifferent.

Those claims are hear say, invalidated, and should have never been allowed to be in print this long. Why do you think that thread is locked?

Many sailors in the Gorge are older men, there the ones who had the balls back in the 80's to pioneer this sport and this is what they get.

Whoever supports that idiot is also one them self.

From the Hood River News

A fugitive from California has been arrested for the April 18 roadside robbery in Cascade Locks – and is a “person of interest” in six other Gorge crimes.

Hood River District Attorney John Sewell has charged Rigoberto R. Maldonado, 33, with two counts of felony robbery, first-degree sodomy and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.

The suspect is behind bars in the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facilities. Sewell said an investigation into the Cascade Locks robbery led law enforcement officials to Maldonado, who was living in Carson, Wash.

A grand jury will decide later this week whether there is probable cause for the man to stand trial. If Sewell is given the go-ahead for prosecution, the Hood River law firm of Morris Olson Smith will defend Maldonado.

He was jailed in The Dalles on April 24 after detectives learned that he was wanted for violating his parole in a California robbery conviction. Maldonado’s bail from NORCOR has been set at $312,500 in cash.

Sewell said evidence was found at Maldonado’s residence that tied him to the recent robbery. The district attorney declined to comment further about the nature of that evidence or the pending case. He also would not speculate about Maldonado’s possible involvement in six other robberies that have taken place since December, the start of the crime spree.

“Three prosecutors and half a dozen detectives are collaborating on an investigation into all of these robberies,” said Sewell.

“I do not want to comment on these cases beyond saying that I remain optimistic that these crimes are eventually going to be resolved in a satisfactory fashion.”

He said residents and visitors alike should continue to be cautious about parking their vehicles in isolated areas along Interstate 84.

“People need to be aware of their surroundings and not provide a robber with opportunity,” said Sewell.

According to reports, shortly before 11:30 p.m. on April 18, a masked man approached the vehicle in which a young couple was sitting. The car was occupied by a male and female, both 17, and parked east of Cascade Locks along the freeway.

The suspect reportedly brandished a handgun and sexually assaulted the teenage girl. He then stole credit cards, cell phones and a laptop computer from her and the male driver, who lives in the nearby town.

Two other local robberies have taken place since December; one at the Charburger Restaurant near Hood River and the other at Mitchell Point. In addition, two robberies have been committed along I-84 at Kelly Point near The Dalles and one at The Women’s Forum State Park in Corbett. A motorist was also held up at gunpoint along State Route 14 on the Washington State shoreline.

The suspect in all of these incidents spoke with a Hispanic accent. He was wearing a black face mask and black hooded sweatshirt and pants. He left the crime scenes in several different models of vehicles.

Hey my sista from another mista! Chill bebe!

We all annoy here but why you so scary? You won't find a gal acting like that. Look at your posts. 1/2 of them are saying bad things to me or other women but not saying much else.

Peace love and plastic swords!

And no, that wasn't me in the above article. I am not disgruntled mexican fugitive, although we do have problems with them in Maui parking lots. I am not even sure I want to windsurf at the gorge this summer (can stay in Paia for free). If I do, I would like to chill with isobars and clean our guns! Maybe he should give 'all' the lone traveling gals some advice on what is useful hardware purchase. To discourage parking lot predators without hurting them. Only way they will wise up. Hey hey isobars? Big bore or cheap ammo? Gals can get into shooting targets all day if we can re-stock at walmart without emptying our purses.

And that wasn't 'me' crapping on people's lawns last summer (I know the other gals do). I use the toilets. Having to tip-toe through the geezers, but that's o.k. I will not complain about it again. Won't wear no skirts no more. Point taken.

What really worries me, JJ, is coming out of the washroom late one night at the hatch and having a viagra-overdosed crazed bulldog of a man coming at me with 3" and a plastic pirate sword...yikes!

I'll make this my last post in reference to all your issues that are extremely insulting, distasteful, and disrespectful. Do jesusjones and the other crazy forum members honestly hang around the Gorge? I've never met such strange, angry people around here, and I've lived in Hood River for 17 years.

If you read this thread, please do not avoid the Gorge! The other 99% of us are really nice, friendly, not creepy people. Its just that only the 1% post on the forums where they are anonymous.

CALM DOWN JESUSJONES
