Hi people - I am looking to buy a Formula rig: starboard Formula board, ~12m sail, mast, boom, etc... to be able to go out in light wind...
If you have, or know someone who has this rig, please let me know...
Thanks, and see you out there!
Juan

wise thoughts
I have 12.5 and I am happy with... but compare my weight (200) and yours I have to start thinking about something like 14-16 m2 sail.. and I'm really do.
But before buy 12.. try mine. I'll be at Fogland or Second beach this weekend.

Hi Hurl - thanks for the reply, but I'm in RI and I'm not going to make it to NC this weekend...
Have fun, and if you don't sell it, let me know, and may be we can arrange to have the gear shipped to RI...
Good luck,
Juan

Hi Juan, I will be at Fogland this weekend too. Peter may be there with his new Starboard formula board as well. He may have some gear for sale. See you there. Alan

Juan:
Hey there! You just missed a shot at my Starboard Formula Experience I was using last year, just sold it a week ago for $700. Upgraded to the 2008 Starboard Formula Apollo this season, haven't sailed it yet.
At your weight (similar to mine), I would not recommend going larger than 11.0 on the sail. The difference between an 11.0 and 12.5 or so is more about pointing angles for hardcore racers than for early planing, especially for medium-weights like us.
My biggest is 9.8 right now, thinking of going to 11.0.
I will probably be down at Fogland tomorrow...

Hi Peter - thanks for the advice, I'll try to find an 11m rig, eve if it sounds huge... i remember you planing on you old board on very light wind days, was that a 9.5m rig?
See you in Fogland...

Juan:
Yes, that was a 9.5 Retro. Now I have a 9.8 Aerotech VMG race sail for my biggest. With my new Apollo Formula board I am planing even earlier!
See you soon...
