It was sunny and warm at MH. It wasn't at Dougs when we were there.

There were a dozen sailors out at Rowena between 3 and 5pm and it was sunny with clouds to the west and east. |

With the closure of the Maryhill Bridge, I have been sailing at Rufus instead of the Wall this Spring. I haven't seen more than one other windsurfer or any kiters out there this season (weekdays). There have been more fishermen than usual.
I did count about 20 sailors at the Hatchery a couple of weeks ago (also a weekday).
It is still early in the season. I'm sure the crowds will be back in July.
Enjoy the uncrowded conditions while you can. |

And why drive when it's blowing in the teens (except for 90 minutes if one happened to be there at the time)?

Since I have to drive anyway, Dougs is one place I'm NOT going to hang around waiting for it to maybe get good when I see a cloud line farther east. Plus it was too north there when I was looking at it. Glad we all got some.
I'm sure you're right, it's still early but after reading about all the people who have sailed many days this year I was surprised there weren't more people out. On the way east there was one guy out and on the way back at 6:30 there were 2 or 3 people out. |
