Yesterday, I drove over to Chapin and noticed the changes they have made, allowing 4-wheelers to drive along the beach. Isn't this a hassle for windsurfers and kiters? I've been down that section of the beach and don't remember going anywhere in particular. Is this a lot of tourist hype designed to optain town revenue with their Dennis off road permit? How many places are there to actually use such a permit?

There have always been off road permits for chapin.
Many go there for claming at low tide.
The ORV permits are only sold to Dennis Residents and you can use them at Chapin and Crowes Pasture beach areas.

Not a new thing. But you do not see too many driving out there when it is windy so maybe you just never noticed it before

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I don't go to Chapin much and, yes, only on windy days. I ended up at Mayflower. Funny, though, I've sailed at Bayview in March years ago thinking it was Corporation. Sometime, I'm going to find Corporation. How's that Velvet Underground lyric go? >>I tried to find my mainline but couldn't hit it sideways.<<
