Does anyone sail Port Townsend, Wilson Point or Keystone, Fort Casey regularly? I've been watching the sensor for awhile and the wind seems very consistent and strong all fall, winter, spring--S SW at 15-25--and from the NW in the summer--10-20. Conditions look a bit cold, but curious if this is an overlooked Puget Sound gem cause I rarely hear about sailing there...hmmmm

I don't sail Port Townsend a lot, but I did sail there today, Friday 4-18. Launched from North Beach, sailed 4.7/90L from about 3-4 p.m. Yes, it often blows there, but I would not call this place a gem. Today was typical in my experience - strong currents and jumbled swell/chop. |
