| Thanks for the pictures. I wouldn't sail with all that personal equipment, myself. Looking at the second picture with the rocks in the background reminds me of the day years ago when there were 50 of us sailing and looking at blue smoke. It can be rather dangerous if you are blown down near them as I found out. It's too bad you didn't get any of those gentle rollers which make it a rather fun place to sail.

got out thursday to nahant, when your there do yourself a favor and drive the island. lots to see. some peole got the big bucks. quite the area. check out these pics. of the local homes.

| Nahant is nothing compared to Cohasset, Beverly Farms or Manchester when it comes to wealthy coastal homes. I also don't think that slab hi-rise was built in the 40's. They didn't start using slab concrete for buildings as tall as that until after the war.

| I've been intrigued by Nahant for a while but never sailed there. Do people generally launch on the Eastern ocean side or the more protected western side of the isthmus?

Usually on the ocean side. It's got waves and onshore wind in NE. Flat water, tiny waves, offshore wind in SW. It is sailed a lot with SW winds even though it is offshore. IWindsurf used to have a meter there and the launch was pretty popular. I haven't sailed there much since the meter was removed so I'm not sure what kind of crowd it gets now. I imagine SW wind with a decent E swell would be fantastic for clean wave sailing but I never did get those conditions when I used to sail there a lot.
