Hi, going camping down there with my family. Experienced sailor but not super comfortable in nasty seas, shore break etc. Do you think its work it to bring my gear down there to try to sail this week? Windsurf, not kite. Marni

definitely bring your gear! The wind will be the big variable, but if you don't bring gear you'll kick yourself once you see it. 6.5 and a 5.5, give or take, and you're covered @Leo.

Okay, thanks so much. Will be looking for fellow sailors. Don't really want to sail out there alone. My husband doesn't sail. I will be loading the boards and sails in the morning. I would love an update on the conditions. I weigh 140 and make most of my jibes in flat water. I should be like a pro. Learned how to sail back in the 80's. Got stuck at this level, and that's where it is. Marni

Oh, and most important, a cooler stocked with cold beer (Coors, MGD and a few non-ach will do). Locals will accept beer in exchange for local knowledge and sailing tips Wink Wink

If you are used to sailing Arroyo Laguna then the water at Leo shouldn't seem cold to you. I sailed County Line (spot very close to Leo) last weekend and Jalama this Friday, and Jalama was a LOT colder.
