Huntington on Saturday and Sunday was really knarly. It's actually more fun with smaller manageable waves (like 6 foot SETS), rather than continuous walls of closeouts coming at you, with onshore wind. It was super hard to get out, and Sunday my rig and I actually got swept under the pier by the fast moving south current, before I was able to waterstart (but don't tell anyone!).
It would be fun if windsurfers came to huntington, cuz Christopher (clewfirst.org) and I are the only ones ever sailing there. Mostly dominated by kites. |
