|

Can anyone tell me what happened to Bart's Better Boards? I bought a great board there a few years ago, and was recently back in Hood River for the first time in a couple years (I live in SF). I drove by the spot I thought the place was located in and didn't see it (unless I was totally disoriented). Did it close up? Did it move elsewhere? Does anyone happen to know the address of the old location? Thanks. |

I heard that Bart's closed down last year. I have looked for it and haven't found it so I assume the rumors are true.

Yes you can find Bart at Gorge Surf SHOP along with his forecast. As many may not know Q104 is no more and so is Bart on the radio. Stay tuned for more info about Bart's Best Bet. |

Bart AND his Best Boards are in the Gorge Surf Shop.
BTW, I think Bart is very well tuned into what boards work well in the Gorge. He talks to so MANY excellent sailors that even if he hasn't sailed a particular board, he has discussed its performance with many experts who have and has a very astute grasp of what he hears.
I once asked him about selling my highly rated (by the magazines) B&J board in BBB. He said it just wasn't suited for Gorge use by the average buyer and listed several reasons for that. He had never sailed the board, but his reasons why it wasn't a good Gorge board agreed 100% with the reasons I didn't like it in the Gorge.
