I overheard on the evening news that a board and sail was found at the SFYC. By the time I got off the phone the report was over, I missed it. I have scoured the internet for answers. Anyone hear about a missing sailor. A recovered board and rig? In SF bay? |

We sailed Berkeley Marina. At around 7:00pm, while sharing some beers and getting warm, I could see a Coast Guard helicopter hovering for a long time over the bay waters between SF and Berkeley. Don't know if it is related. |

Mad-
Thanks man,
Amazing how the media gives little to no coverage to these events.
Did you know a surfer drowned back in Sept at OB? I was monitoring my scanner and drove to the beach to watch them recover the dead body. The news did not even cover it. |

I was on the water at TI from 3:00 to 4:30 yesterday. Two coastie's in their outboard patrol boats, complete with stern and bow machine guns, blasted by coming from Richmond area towards the east side of TI and the Bay Bridge at about 3:10. I saw a helo too about that time going the same general direction but closer to the Berkeley shore.
It appeared to just be another drill or opportunity for them to see how fast their tax funded boats could go. Didn't see anybody else, and it was quiet the rest of the time.
The sailing and swell was excellent.
Ross. |

Yeah, hell with that tax funded coast guard. I saw the same thing...a fire truck hauling ass down the street. I'll bet they were just seeing how fast their tax funded truck would go. Why should I pay for the coast guard or the fire department? My house ain't on fire and my mast ain't broken a mile out on an ebb. |

Sorry, windoggie, sarcasm seems to have gone the way of irony. Nobody seems to "get it" anymore. |
