Pt Judith was ON yesterday. Once again, started out slow and then picked up to a steady 20+ Southerly breeze.

The sensor there is off so I usually take off about 5 knts from the average reading (especially when winds come in from the south).

Lots of good places to launch. From my understanding, here's the places to launch based on wind (other posters please correct me if I'm wrong)

SW: George's Beach Launch
W, NW: Wheeler Beach Launch
Due S or SE?: Fishermans Hole (as you drive to Lighthouse on Ocean drive, it's the dirt path about a quarter mile before the lighthouse area.

Not so great in the summer but it's been cranking over the fall. I've been lucky enough to hit it just about every week for the last month.

I haven't been to Pt Judith very much this year but I'll add my 2 pennies anyway- Fishermans Hole/Deep Hole is a surfing and wavesailing spot. It is also good in SW and GREAT in W with a south swell if you can get it. I think it becomes port tack jump in S or SE but I've only been there in SW and W so I'm not sure.

Georges and Wheeler are inside a huge breakwater so less waves, some chop and you can sail out to get swell at the opening. It has some waves inside in just the right conditions, but it is generaly more of a flat water/chop site. NW is offshore and gets very dirty at Deep Hole but is sideshore and better at Wheeler.

I was at West Dennis yesterday- really nice late in the day, 20-30, no rain, south wind is fun there.

Please excuse this public service announcement. If you didn't sail today, WTF you missed it!

It was redemption day, for I sinned by going to Kalmus yesterday without packing a fully loaded pistol. I never would have thought that a 6.0 was the sail. Although I did end up getting a somewhat OK session in, on a 5.0, too much pocket pool time was spent wailting for things to pick up.

Today, thankfully was a little different. A Classic!!!!
NW / 4.2 - Power 95 to 125% / Tee Time 9:30am - 3.5 hrs bht / Air 56F / H20 OK / Quit'n Time 11:30am / Time Wasted - 0 min/ Effort 100% / Overall Grade - 97 - 3 points deducted for no one to share it with.

Well my season has come to an abrupt end. A trucker slammed into the rear of my beach wagon going North on Rt 25 out of Buzzard's Bay 0450 Tuesday morning and totaled it. I did, however, put in 57 sessions, most of them of three hours or more, this year. Since I wasn't hurt in spite of the violent impact, I think that the conditioning that windsurfing provides has helped me live better for sure.

Ah, Brucie, despite our ongoing fun 'n friendly repartee, I'm glad you weren't hurt. Any damage is sure to be psychological. Your Buick Century is beyond hope, though. (Some might assert that it was beyond hope while still on the showroom floor.) And the mishap is particularly annoying because you just installed that tailgate window.

Tough luck, big guy. Time for a Hummer (the car, the car). Pictures here.
