We had some rather gusty westerlies yesterday. Where I sail regularly, it seems always to be very gusty when it blows out of the West. The West Falmouth windmeter has been down for so long, it looks like up to me. There's no archive graph to compare the new local weather station put up on the old Swift estate so I really can't tell exactly where it's gustier. I'ld like to know of a beach on Buzzard's Bay that doesn't see directly on-shore winds from the West. I also wonder if there might be some interesting launches in Wellfleet, Truro or Orleans that would be good in a west wind. How about it, Ron?

Hardings Beach in Chatham best bet for west winds. Big beach with tons of parking. Bring a weed fin you will need it!!

Thanks, Evans, I'll look it up in the maps. I've been sailing lately without a weeder in high tides. The weeds are there, but they aren't so big as they are in full spring-summer sunlight.

I like Horseneck Beach in Westport, Mass for a gusty Westerly.

Say, Brucie, it's most gusty when you're on the beach with your jaw flapping.
