I won't have time to hit the Cape or Ned's point today but URI Bay is a 12 minute drive for me. I've heard great things about it, but never have I seen anyone wsurf there. What am I missing? Can anyone give me some info as to:
1) What wind reading and direction I can check out to determine if it's doable
2) where to launch from?
3) are there other areas nearbye that could be as good?
Pt Judith is 25 minutes away but I've been skunked a lot on SW winds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's been years since I've sailed there, but Fort Getty in Jamestown is better in SW versus BAy Campus. Preferably in outgoing tide. As I remember, there are some rocks in close and by the point of land to your right as you launch. Best to get a handle on this before blasting into one. But once out into the Bay you'll be happy!
