Is anyone leaving out of the Pacific Northwest for Baja September-October? I am looking for a convoy to join, or just some wingmen (and any info would be appreciated as this will be my first time).

Thanks. Yeah, I know about the season, it's just that everyone had left already last November?

Any info on camping-car camping would be appreciated..

You could camp at the campground but its way to insane.

Its full of all the old gezers that hit on darcy up here.

There are a couple of arroyos, no services, bring a shovel, and you can
have fresh water delivered to your driveway every day.

I use to go there but its gotten so out of control, Ill just camp in Mike Godseys drivway, turns out hes on the bluff there too.

The bajafriends site is pretty good with lots of local info

Here are a couple of sites with a wealth of info about Baja...traveling, camping, living there.
http://forums.bajanomad.com/
http://math.ucr.edu/ftm/bajaPages/MsgBoard/

Hurricane season doesn't end in Baja until the end of October, and consistant wind usually begins in November. September and most of October is usually hot and humid, and camping can be uncomfortable until November...that's why most people don't go down there until then. Search the above sites and ask questions, Baja travelers are happy to help.

Many folk head down in October and shouldn't be difficult to find a caravan. Might post something on Gorge.net since Baja is considered Hood River South. Yikes! Wind, well that is the question of the season. No guarantees that you'll have great wind but if you pick up kiting - well now you could be in business. Its a cheap place to hang for the winter - gets a little boring but please just go. The more the merrier and spread the germs, no, I mean love. Bring some extra food down for the cows.
