I'm going to soon have a large house on the beach in Maui (Sprecks), and I'm still a single guy. I.e., I don't need a large house to myself.

I was wondering if anybody has ever tried sharing a house in Maui like a Tahoe/Mammoth ski share?

The advantages for the renter would be:
1. No need to shuttle gear back and forth
2. No need to worry about looking for a place to stay
3. No need for even a car as you can sail out of my backyard
4. No need for a long minimum stay
5. Very nice brand new house

I'm wondering if this would work out better than fulltime/long-term roommates.

Would anybody pay something like $300 a month for something like this?
If you stayed 56 nights, that would work out to $65 a night.

If anybody has recommendations on how to set up something like this, or would be interested.

If you're a Maui regular and coming to visit Maui any time and the concept sounds interesting, or you might be looking for some sort of rental on a regular basis and want to meet, send me a reply--let me know a little about you, and I'll contact you. Also, in a couple months, I'll have a guest room right that will needs a dedicated windsurfer roommate.

Aloha!

I come here from May to Nov. or so every year. In winter I live in Belize and own a retail windsurf store. My income derives from 8 rental houses in Kansas City and from the Caye Caulker Nature Reserve. I have a gig working as an official for the PWA at the Aloha Wave Finals in November. Mostly I travel the world to windsurf.
I am up in Makawao this summer.
