ok, truce. I think we all get frustrated when there is no wind. I know I do.

Good sailing to all.

Somehow, the fact that forecasting requires a scientific background has been turned around to being an opportunity for derisive personal attack. You are only telling us something about yourselves that way. Or are you just one person, Outcast, RonC and Pueno? If you think your complaints are going to be read here by staffers, you are sadly mistaken, too, Wind.Man. Part of the new I-windsurf would include doing away with good editing of the message board. I know an alternative forecasting website. I'll P.M. it.

What you and other low class flunkies don't know would be that attacking personalities and not ideas doesn't obtain intelligent results.

Brucie, doesn't it strike you that calling others "moron" or "flunky" is an attack on personalities? Are you so dense that you can't see the flagrant hypocrisy in your post?

I, on the other hand, don't pontificate about attacks on personalities. Just as you enjoy it and do it, so I enjoy it and do it -- but only to your 40 personalities, nobody else.

BTW, big guy, congratulations on spelling "optain" correctly. Did mom help? Wink

Next we'll work on your punctuation. When we're through, perhaps you can pass the admissions exam to Dartmouth.

To those in wonder about the wind down here on the cape and islands, things change hourly and vary widely even within a few miles. These local patterns are hard to forecast and update especially when the meteorologist is at times sitting at a desk on the west coast (depending on shifts), i would always laugh when I saw detailed wind explantions coming from stu or others that i know whom are kicking it far far way, when i'm sitting here looking at the wind out there every day and basing a business on the wind speeds... so only take the forecasts as another tool and not as mantra, but realize the value that I windsurf offers: an attractive conglomeration of information easily accessible and available to the general public and those of us who have been supporting this group since "call of the wind" and the predawn of internet & cell phones...

I understand it is difficult to forecast winds. I also understand that a good forecast does not guarantee there will be wind.

What I do NOT understand is why there was not an update on this particualr day. All the other sites (windguru, NOAA, ect) called it right. Iwindsurf was the only forecast that was way off.

We are paying for a service here. The other sites are free. There used to be an 11:00 update daily. That was done away with and we were told there would be "special updates as needed". If a special update was ever needed, this would have been the day.

No one is perfect, but when you blow a forecast as bad as they did on this day, an update should be issued - period - end of story.
