Whatever happened to the time when if a person left gear on the Beach, people would leave it alone for at least 24 hours so a person could remember he left it where he did. I lost a mast last year after just 4 hours of leaving it behind.

But yet kudo's to the guy who put my board on the beach for me to re-claim after I got separated from it on the water.
Good luck on yer fins. check the parks Dept. if you havent.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, not sure at this point if it will be returned at all. I'll check with the parks dept...do you know any specific dept or person I should try to locate?

I'd try stopping by any of the "Camping" state parks {viento, Memaloose} and talk to a Ranger if you can find one. One of the hosts of the park could possibly have a phone # for a Ranger as well.
