I am sitting in an internet cafe in CC now waiting for my flight back to SF.
Its been raining like crazy here all week. That has not really hindered the wind too much.
Of the 5 days here I was able to sail 4 days. 3 days on a 6.0 could have used a smaller sail. Yesterday was the lightest day and I was planing and having fun on a 8.0 135lt board. Wow thats lots of sail and board. I cannot wait to get home and get back to my smaller gear. The sailors here are pretty accomplished not shortage of people to sail and hang out with.
The conditions here are pretty amazing. Uncrowded and it blows all day!! I mean from duck till dawn. They say its better in the spring and early summer so I think I will return then. Its inexpensive to stay here. totally trip was under $1000 and food is high quality and cheaper. Everything is cheaper out here.

If your ever looking to go some place warm and friendly then I recommend Corpus Christi Texas. Oh yeah, lots of friendly and hot women.

glad you had a good time!

where in CC did you sail? how many people are regularly sailing out there now adays?

I moved from there in in '01 - at that time the regular sailing crowd seemed to be thinning out...

I sailed Oleander-Ropes, Port Arnansas (Port A), and Bird Island. The most people were at Port A and Bird Isl.
Where do you live now?

I'll bet you didn't need a wetsuit either. Since relocating to Petaluma, that's my only complaint about the bay area's sailing.

Having sailed their most of my life I'm jealous you've got to enjoy the area. The rains are very unusual (can you say global climate change) and typically you can be on a 4.7 to 5.5 this time of year.

Next time go in early April, bring your small stuff and try the surf at the new jetties by fish pass (just south of Port A). I have a condo on the beach in Port A we rent out if you are interested.

cheers

Then of what use are the many CC area sensors and statistics that show summertime daytime wind in the teens . . . 9.0 and Formula boards . . . and significant monthly rainfall?
