I stopped by a Treasure Island update meeting. They got a late start in February and are now two months behind schedule so the lot will probably be closed until November. Sorry for the bad news. |

Bad news indeed . TI has had some good wind days and believe me I've tried to figure out a way to launch without damaging myself or the gear. |

Seriously-don't be stupid. It is bad enough that we have lost access for this season. The US Navy pretty much holds all the cards. We basically have none, as evidenced by what happened this season. If they feel as though our actions are impacting their ability to transfer the island to the city, plan on not sailing there for a while. |

delay...delay...delay
this is nothing shocking. This was predicted/"forecasted" by some individuals at the TI meetings. But others were quite optimistic or gullible enough thinking that the project would be completed as the Navy stated on time.
Doh! ! !
Don't believe any of what the Navy says |

agree, I can't remember the last time an excavation project with this scope was finished on time. Somehow it was expected. Gosh I miss the ramps at TI!! |

You know I sailed Berkeley Marina last Sunday and the ramps around the pier were great. I'd say better than TI. |

With a different owner, there would probably be a trail of sandbags by now somewhere among the accessible rock entries. |

a few of us have been launching from 13th street. there is good parking and rigging area, and easy to launch off the pipe. but you are in a complete wind shadow for 10-40 yards...so please don't try it in a flood! and don't sail there alone...

From your comment, you must not have sailed much at TI. Only comparable sites in bay area SOMETIMES are 3rd and Sherman |

Navy has NOT transferred ownership yet. Don't know if they will in the near future. |
