Rowena is a great place to stay much like Maui's specklesville minus the real waves. but you can leave your gear rigged and you only sail afternoons.

If you are chasing Wind The hatch in the morning, dougs/ rowena in the afternoon/ evening makes for a perfect day.

If you use Verizon for your wireless, you may be dissapointed with coverage in the Gorge. I use Verizon in Portland and will be switching to another provider due to lack of coverage in the Gorge and iWindsurf dropping pager service here. Check out the wireless FAQ for more info.
