Great feedback from everyone. Thanks for all your input. Now the big question is if I bring only an 85L board and a bunch of sails 4.0 to 6.0 how often do you think I will get to sail if I only have weekends available. Mind you I am crazy enough to drive a couple of hours if that is what it takes to get my fix. Oops last issue when the air and water are below 50 degrees I am closing up shop for the season. So based upon this group of factors am I looking at once a month, once a year or every weekend from April to October...

Moved to Richmond five years ago from buffalo ny. I have sailed Gywinns Island several times and a couple other spots on the rappahanock. Youl'e hear more wind forcasts of 5-10 than you ever want to see. My son and I head for the OBX weekends when the wind is 15-30. pm me if want to talk about sailing etc.

Not too often unless you weight only 130lbs. Winds are mostly driven by fronts and tropical systems later in the year. Therefore it's hit or miss...
