Hey, I also live in Redlands, Use to sail Lake Perris, but have not done so lately due to winds too lite. Sometimes sailable with Santa Ana winds. See you at cabrillo sometime, or lets have a drink in town. Happy sailing, Max.

Like you I am relatively new to sailing in Los Angeles so I am always interested to find out about new sailing spots. I have not sailed Lake Perris, but using the search function turns up lots of topics about Lake Perris.
This link was near the top of the list of links when I searched on Lake Perris:

i would like to see some pictures of sailing at Lake Perris, because I have never seen it windier than about 8 knots. I'm guessing because I have only been there in the fall?

Lake Perris is a California classic. Long ago, as a kid, I met two brothers with their parents (who were needed for their coaching and their driver's licenses) early in the morning (about 8AM) on a great Santa Ana winds day...while I was in college in Long Beach...about 1988.
They also were sailing Bruce Jones Sailboards -- and I noticed that they seemed to do a lot MORE with them than I did with my Bruce Jones. They helped get me even more inspired..
Those two kids were then, and also turned out to be, Matt and Kevin Pritchard.
