A friend from Gloucester, who doesnt windsurf, thought Wingrersheek Beach would be a good place to sail. He said it was shallow for long distance and had good wind. Ive never been there. Can any locals comment on the site?

Summer parking is a nightmare.

Thanks, quickrig. Is it worth checking out after Labor Day?

Although I grew up swimming that beach, I never sailed there. Ive talked to a number of people who sail Cape Ann, though. It shouldnt be hard to access after Labor Day. Theres another beach in Gloucester past the town facing the ocean which was popular twenty years ago. I went to a big party thrown by Bic and Rossignol there once in late September, but there wasnt any wind that day. All in all, before sailing in that Ipswich River estuary check the tides and watch for sandbars.
