OK 1st I weigh a lot 256

I have 2 hi fly MADD boards 1 is the 115 and the other is the 161 both boards have had stoch fin failure. the smaller broke the right fin at the base last year and to hi flys credit they sent me a new pair of 26cm fins free now after 15 session on the bigger madd Iwas in 10 -13 knots 8.5 sail GPS teling me i was at 15 knots plaining speed when the same thing happened. I did not hit any thing and I was not back foot heavy (just bearing off to keep board speed up 9-12 inches of chop not very steep. Any Ideas??
P.S switched to maui fin co on the small fins and have had no probs on the small board

The reason anyone keeps the stock fin is to give to the buyer when you sell the board. Since 1983, still true today.

Sell the stock fin to a lil tyke, someone my size.
In over 20 years of buying production boards, I have NEVER used the stock fin more than a week, before switching out for something that works tons better.

Hey Lee,

What fin do you recommend for a JP Freestyle/Wave?

Kinda depends on your size and the size of the FSW.
Most guys in the 150 lbs range on 85s use stock sizing, but not stock, 26cm freestyle type fins.
If your emphasis is more blasting in choppy waters, then a longer blade around 30.
If your main emphasis is railing ripping jibes, then a hair longer blade to keep the wide tail in the water.
If you surfsail it, probably a 22 wave fin.
Adjust according to your size, what you want to do, and the boards size.
