Additionally, from the Sheriff's office 15 minutes ago:

"Cook-Underwood Road still remains open to local traffic only. The State Route 14 closure remains in effect for an undetermined amount of time due to significant tree and rock dangers that have not been mitigated."

This morning's fire update says still closed.

Thanks for the current update. What is your source for updates? Thank you. YES, stay out of the way of fire crew activity, road or river. Yes, I did hear about the Coast Guard having to chase away at least one kiter from the water dip zone.

The first link, inciweb, is updated every morning, so it's only current once a day. Skamania county Sheriff's page is a little slow to update. Their Facebook page is usually more current. More info is shared at the Facebook Columbia Gorge Wildland Fire info page, so when the other pages haven't update lately I go there to see if anyone else has something more current. Good info sharing happens here http://hoodriverweather.info too and if the highway opens I suspect someone will hear about it and share.

That's all I got.

This morning's update:

Safety and Closures: Washington State Route 14 remains closed between mile markers 56-65 due
to safety hazards from fire weakened trees and terrain that has been compromised by fire activity. Crews are actively engaged in clearing these safety hazards to safely reopen the highway.
