Perhaps we can use wet-ty's famous slur....moron! |
30 years ago the Republicans won the college educated vote by 15 points. Today they are down 30 POINTS! with college educated voters. So , the answer is that Trump is tripling down on dumb.. |

Making the world safe for polluters, the Trump administration's agenda:
Quote: | —Exide bankruptcy. Whether Exide will get to walk away from its shuttered battery-recycling plant in Los Angeles — the site of the largest toxic contamination in California history — and leave taxpayers to shoulder millions of dollars in cleanup costs and health problems hinges on hearings in federal bankruptcy court that began Thursday. The U.S. Department of Justice is backing Exide’s plan, which state lawmakers have condemned.
Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon: “If the proposed settlement is approved, it will be evidence to other industries around the country that they will not be held accountable for damage they cause to public health and the environment, despite our federal and state laws.” |

I wonder if this is just the tip of the iceberg with Calif. going green. With electric cars and battery backup for solar, all those batteries after their lifespan is up will have to be recycled in some way. |

Not broke, just corrupt and compromised. From Forbes:
Quote: | No aspect of Donald Trump’s business has been the subject of more speculation than his debt load. Lots of people believe the president owes $400 million, especially after Trump seemed to agree with that figure on national television Thursday night. In reality, however, he owes more than $1 billion.
The loans are spread out over more than a dozen different assets—hotels, buildings, mansions and golf courses. Most are listed on the financial disclosure report Trump files annually with the federal government. Two, which add up to an estimated $447 million, are not.
It is important to note, as Trump did Thursday night, that he also has significant assets. Forbes values them at $3.66 billion, enough to make his net worth an estimated $2.5 billion. He is not broke, despite what many critics claim. |

Just the thing we need—dirtier water so big carbon can make more money,
https://apnews.com/article/environment-utilities-970e4e1dea32a19bf1df43f12bae27ac
Quote: | NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Trump administration will let some leaking or otherwise dangerous coal ash storage ponds stay in operation for years more and some unlined ponds stay open indefinitely under a rule change announced Friday.
The move by the Environmental Protection Agency is the administration’s latest rollback of environmental and public health regulations governing operators of coal-fired power plants, which are taking hits financially as cheaper natural gas, solar and wind power make dirtier-burning coal plants less competitive.
Friday’s move weakens an Obama-era rule in which the EPA regulated the storage and disposal of toxic coal ash for the first time, including closing coal-ash dumping ponds that were unstable or contaminating groundwater. |

Well—from Morning Consult:
Quote: | In the latest update to our tracking data on whether Americans think the country is heading in the right direction, 70 percent of U.S. adults say the country is on the wrong track. Sixty-one percent of Republicans say things are going in the right direction, compared to 24 percent of independents and 10 percent of Democrats. |

Duh.
Quote: | Donald Trump’s re-election campaign poses the greatest threat to American democracy since World War II.
Mr. Trump’s ruinous tenure already has gravely damaged the United States at home and around the world. He has abused the power of his office and denied the legitimacy of his political opponents, shattering the norms that have bound the nation together for generations. He has subsumed the public interest to the profitability of his business and political interests. He has shown a breathtaking disregard for the lives and liberties of Americans. He is a man unworthy of the office he holds.
The editorial board does not lightly indict a duly elected president. During Mr. Trump’s term, we have called out his racism and his xenophobia. We have critiqued his vandalism of the postwar consensus, a system of alliances and relationships around the globe that cost a great many lives to establish and maintain. We have, again and again, deplored his divisive rhetoric and his malicious attacks on fellow Americans. Yet when the Senate refused to convict the president for obvious abuses of power and obstruction, we counseled his political opponents to focus their outrage on defeating him at the ballot box.
Nov. 3 can be a turning point. This is an election about the country’s future, and what path its citizens wish to choose. |
It goes on—for ten pages. The worst mistake in American elections in our history. |

Those batteries are made from very toxic rare earth elements. Tankers etcetera are mostly steel and can be recycled |
