hatteras daily / short termrental

anyone know of a short term rental ( by the day ) in the outerbanks ( close to canadian hole) that is open to windsurfers . doesnt have to be sound side or ocean front . I just need a place that isnt too expensive, that is safe, clean and a place to rest my weary head at night.
looking to go this coming weekend for potential 4 days

The motels would probably cost as much for 4 days as a weeks rental in a small non lavishing cottage.
I recommend Hatteras Realty, you can look online or call.

For your short term strike mission, the closest motels are in Buxton. Hatteras Island Inn, Cape Hatteras Motel and Cape Pines Motel. I've stayed at the first two - your basic motel but served the purpose. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance. Also, check motels in Avon. With prolonged northeast wind, water will wash over the dunes in Buxton so getting in/out of town may not be easy or possible.
