I thought I would take you back in time to June when mrgybe--who acknowledged that his consumption of media was limited--defended Trump and Pence, claiming that they promoted, not belittled the wearing of masks. Gaslighting must be part of his schooling--the claims were then, utter nonsense. But of course he did it in a kind and nurturing way. eh?
Quote: | June 18th.
You seem confused. You stated that the President and Vice President have called for the people in this country to avoid wearing masks. All I ask is that you provide a quote from either of them saying that, because that is completely contrary to the guidance they have issued here........
https://www.coronavirus.gov/
........and here, where masks are strongly encouraged in public places as part of the re-opening guidelines.
So the President and VP are calling for people not to wear masks while simultaneously posting strong advice to wear masks on the WH website they control? Got it! Since you didn't provide links to any of the examples you cited, I checked the only one that responded to my question....

Trump shares tweet that argues face masks represent 'silence, slavery, and social death
That remark was made on March 28.......a week before the CDC reversed it's stance of mask wearing. Do you want him to follow their advice or not? As for Pence claiming that the pandemic is over, that is CNN spin on a WSJ opinion piece which I read at the time. He did not say it is over. Yet another falsehood.
Look, if seething with anger every day about the actions of a man you openly despise........and making things up to feed that anger.....improves your life, go for it! From the outside it certainly doesn't seem that way.

Trump actively inflamed the wearing of masks as a partisan issue, intended to wound him politically rather than save lives. From July 6, at least, it was clear that wearing masks protected both individual and public health.
Quote: | Scientific evidence is clear: Social distancing and wearing masks help prevent people from spreading COVID-19, and masks also protect those who wear them, two UC Davis Health experts said on UC Davis LIVE: COVID-19.
A range of new research on face coverings shows that the risk of infection to the wearer is decreased by 65 percent, said Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
“On the issue of masks, I’d like to restart — because we’ve learned a lot,” Blumberg said. “We’ve learned more due to research and additional scientific evidence. What we know now is that masks work and are very important.”
Blumberg and William Ristenpart, a professor of chemical engineering at UC Davis, appeared on the July 2 livestream devoted to explaining how the virus spreads and how to prevent transmission.
In their comments and answers to questions from viewers, Blumberg and Ristenpart repeatedly made the point that research continues to support the fundamental methods to prevent spreading COVID-19: Wear masks, maintain social distance and keep social interactions outdoors whenever possible.

Trump's sandbagging of wearing masks led to thousands of unnecessary deaths--as did his 6 weeks of claiming that he had it under control and it would go away by the summer. Gybe's defense of Trump is just dishonest--but not really surprising. His attacks on gasoline oxygenates showed a similar disdain for protecting public health. |

Since we are going back in time.........Berkeley's postings count;
- end July 2019 - 12,227
- end July 2020 - 14,916 (and counting)
Nearly 2,700 posts in 12 months.......225 a month.......long, angry, accusatory, and routinely vulgar. This toxic behavior is not normal for a 70 year old grandfather. He really needs to reassess whether this is how he wants to consume the last years of his life. |

A little obsessive, the "pot" calling the pot black. Nothing positive to say about your hero and his magnificent job saving us from the virus?
Today’s reporting is that the Trump administration essentially forbids staff from wearing masks at work. Can’t admit you were wrong, can you?
That was the point in June.
