This is real. People have and will die. Not just old sick people. Some people can't live without windsurfing. Some people can't live with CV19. I saw a video on TV of a 46 year old health care worker. A nurse. No preexisting health issues. She was brave enough to share with the world her spiral downward to death. It didn't take long and it wasn't pretty. Do you really want to risk getting or bringing CV19 home to your family. If you can find and watch that video you might decide a few months way from windsurfing, sports and other people isn't the end of the world like it was for her.....

All true, but where do we draw the line given the scores of risks we take every day even now, let alone pre-CV? Should we wear a helmet when driving, drive 20 mph on freeways, eat nothing not approved by every nutrition guru on the internet, avoid human contact forever lest we get a nasty cold, avoid NSAIDS, boil our newspapers before reading them, let Grandma die alone of old age so we don't expose her, yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada ? Decimal points matter.

Don't forget: the LA mayor has outlawed walking on any dry beach sand until we have a cure, even if that takes years to decades.

We have to remember that folks are dying, and sadly it's some of those selfless folks caring for them.

It's could be a tragic crossroads where we stand today, especially in America. So much depends on what we do.

Two or three months from now will tell much more about where we are going. Then, of course, a new season and a potential onslaught a re-newed and mutated coronavirus faces us this fall and into the winter season.

Looks very sobering and dismal overall. I hope that I'm wrong about everything.

The powers to be tried to leave the beaches open with social distancing. People didn't do as asked. That left them no choice but to closed the beaches to protect us from our self. And yes, some times we need that kind of help..

When the risk is to yourself than go for it like we all do. When what you do risks other people than you don't have the right

So driving should be outlawed, as AOC wants to do anyway? How about ANY sport or activity that could lead to risk to a rescuer (I've seen rescue boats go out in 70-kt winds and overhead waves when bodies started washing ashore, and that was in a lake in New Mexico)? Boating (same lake, a boat drove completely through another)? Smoking in one's own home (second-hand smoke)? Selling guns, fast food, cigarettes, vapes, alcohol, soda pop, bread, and so much more? Besides, some physicians of Fauci's peerage insist that herd immunity is impossible without open, free exposure, and that the CV threat to anyone under 65 is much less than that of influenza.

Driving is governed by laws that protect you and the people around you. Break the laws and you will lose the privilege. Life and sports has risks. On very rare occasions we get in trouble and need help. There is a long list of highly trained people willing to take on the job of making sure that when we do need help, they respond. What you eat, drink or smoke, mainly effects you. Yes flu kills people. Do we turn a blind eye and just go on as usual and allow Cv to kill hundreds of thousand of people in this country or do what we must to control the spread and give us time to understand this and develop a vaccine.

The intention and result is fear.
Actual medical / scientific fact is ignored.
If one feels high risk ...stay home.
Personal Freedom and personal choice,is that really so vague?

Damn, so simple. Had all these sick Italians just stayed home instead of bar hopping, Italy would have avoided all the unnecessary deaths.

If stats scare you... probably better you stay home too.Its a big scary world out there. Not for all of us though...
Assuming these elderly , immunocompromised Italians would have lived thru a common flu is likely a miscalculation, but that is yours{and your state government} , not mine.

Respect for the truth is the basis for all morality.
