Quote:
This story from ABC Associated Press:Hefty Donation

Franklin Haney made a One million Dollar donation to Trump’s inaugural.

“The contribution from Haney, a prolific political donor, came as he was seeking regulatory approval and financial support from the government for his long-shot bid to acquire the mothballed Bellefonte Nuclear Power Plant in northeastern Alabama. More than two years later, he still hasn't closed the deal.”

This guy is a real piece of work, read the piece and see his longtime shenanigans.

Oh man, and Cohen was involved:

“Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has given prosecutors information regarding Haney, his son and business associate, Frank Haney Jr., and the nuclear plant project, according to a person familiar with what Cohen told the authorities. “

And in addition, funds were being solicited from Qatar!!!!

The Trump inaugural if full of all kinds of shenanigans, in my opinion, and this story could be just the tip of the Ice Berg.

Cohen has been speaking to the Feds in NY about this matter, not sure how NY is involved in Alabama, but it must be how the funds were moved.

“Haney's hefty donation to Trump's inaugural committee is being scrutinized by federal prosecutors in New York ..”

Bribes, corruption, nuclear power? Just another scandal in this insane administration. Impeach!!

Evangelical group to spend $50M on get-out-the-vote efforts

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Veteran conservative activist Ralph Reed said Wednesday that the faith-based group he leads plans to spend at least $50 million on get-out-the-vote efforts in 2020.

It's part of a large-scale marshaling of evangelical resources that's poised to benefit President Donald Trump's reelection campaign.

After Trump spoke to an annual conference hosted by Reed's group, the Faith & Freedom Coalition, the longtime GOP strategist previewed a voter outreach plan for 2020 that he said would include significant investment in Latino voters of faith.

Of the $50 million the group has set aside to spend on communicating with voters, Reed said $4 million would go toward contacting socially conservative and religious Latino voters in swing states that include Florida, Colorado, Nevada and Arizona.

"We will do our job. We will turn out our vote," Reed told reporters.

The Koch Brothers Want to Prevent Future AOCs
The billionaire activists are going to get involved in Democratic primaries to help protect incumbents.

The Washington Post
Quote:
Charles and David Koch are probably, justifiably, the richest conservative bogeymen in the U.S. Collectively, they're referred to as the Koch brothers—though that excludes their less notorious brothers Frederick and Bill. Charles and David are worth an estimated $50 billion each, thanks to Koch Industries, the sprawling business empire that covers petroleum, chemical manufacturing, timber, ranching, finance, the list goes on. They're hardcore libertarians and influential behind-the-scenes political activists, providing money for so many right-wing think tanks, political organizations, and PR campaigns that investigative reporter Jane Mayer wrote a 500-page book, Dark Money, about their shockingly successful efforts to reshape American politics. Their funding helped to drive the faux-grassroots Tea Party movement and established the libertarian Cato Institute, the think tank that crusades against progressive causes like health-care reform and environmental regulation. And now, the Kochs are turning their attention to the Democratic Party.

In a memo obtained by CNBC, Emily Seidel, CEO of the Koch-affiliated political-action committee Americans for Prosperity, announced that the organization would be backing incumbent Democrats against progressive primary challenges in the upcoming congressional primaries. The memo laid out AFP's new objectives, including:

Support the primary election of lawmakers, regardless of political party, who stick their necks out to lead diverse policy coalitions. The threat of being primaried prevents policymakers from leading on difficult issues and driving principled policy reforms. AFP or AFP Action will be ready to engage contested U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and state-level primary races, including Republican, Democrat, Independent or otherwise, to support sitting legislators who lead by uniting with others to pass principled policy and get good things done.

Those "good things" include, for example, the Republican tax cuts from 2017, which slashed the taxes for Koch Industries by as much as $1.4 billion a year. Considering that the Kochs contributed $20 million to getting the bill passed, the return on investment is pretty good.

ohh the left has Sorros... and this is what billionaire number 200 for the right wing...

#BoycottEquinox trends hard after news their billionaire owner is holding Trump fundraiser

Quote:
Stephen Ross is the billionaire owner of SoulCycle and Equinox, popular fitness facilities across the country. On Wednesday, news broke that Ross was planning on holding a high-priced fundraiser for white supremacist in chief Donald Trump. The Daily Beast reports that the fundraising event is to happen in South Hampton this weekend with fundraising asks such as “$100,000 for a photo-op with the president and $250,000 for a roundtable discussion.”

That’s a lot of money to raise for a man who is openly incompetent and racist and ignorant and horrendous. But, as Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump and other billionaires have shown, they aren’t a class a people with much a moral compass or practical intelligence. Ross, according to Forbes, is worth around $7.7 billion and like most insecure billionaires also owns a sports franchise—in his case it is the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

gee corporations paying workers to show up to trump campaign events and get paid $700.00 a day for doing so.

Pennsylvania union leaders reveal Shell employees who skipped Trump rally lost hundreds in income

Quote:
Thousands of Shell contractors were in attendance at Donald Trump’s big union speech in Monaca, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, but that doesn’t mean they wanted to be. While it’s no secret that the workers were paid to be there, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Friday that the consequences of not attending amounted to far more than just the loss of one day’s wages. Employees who wanted to skip the MAGAfest were technically free to do so, but their choice would cause a loss of as much as $700 later in the week.

How the Hell is This Not a Campaign Finance Violation

Quote:
There’s already a front page and a related Pittsburgh Gazette story detailing how thousands of Union workers were paid over $700 plus per diem to attend a tRump rally while any who declined were denied a day’s pay and the weeks overtime so I won’t go into the details.

My question is simple. How the hell is it legal for Shell Oil and it’s contractors to make a multimillion dollar direct campaign contribution? Not to mention the intangible value that having thousands of Union workers being paid for “appearing to support” tRump.

Federal law supposedly prohibits direct corporate and Union campaign contributions of money of things of value. This contribution was directly worth over $1.4 million (700X2000 employees) and worth millions more in propaganda value of Union support.

Is there a lawyer out there that can sue to make tRump pay the money back, pay fines and stop this flagrant abuse?

Ex-US Rep. Collins gets over 2 years in insider trading case

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — The first member of Congress to endorse Donald Trump to be president was sentenced Friday to two years and two months in federal prison after admitting he helped his son and others dodge $800,000 in stock market losses when he learned that a drug trial by a small pharmaceutical company had failed.

Ex-Congressman Christopher Collins, 69, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vernon S. Broderick in Manhattan after the Republican pleaded guilty in October to conspiracy to commit securities fraud and lying to law enforcement officials.

Collins broke down and apologized to his family and his former constituents and colleagues.

“I stand here today as a disgraced former member of Congress,” he said. “My life has been shattered.”

The sentence came even after Collins' lawyers argued he was sorry and should face no prison time in the insider trading case.

Prosecutors, however, argued he should go to prison for nearly five years. They said Collins and his son, Cameron, were worth a total of $35 million when they conspired to sell shares in a pharmaceutical company before devastating news was made public.

Which is unusual, (like everything else in this election) because generally speaking CEOs and their ilk are favorably inclined to support Republican candidates, (particularly incumbent Republicans). According to a recent research paper put out by the National Bureau of Economic Research, 57.7% of large company CEOs consistently donated to Republicans, while only 18.6% donated to Democrats, with the rest leaning toward neither party.
