There will be a big group of people over at "The Rocks" in Plattsburgh- it's just a short 20 minute ferry ride past Whites Beach. Demo gear, low key "Super Session" competition, camaraderie, etc etc- should be fun! Details at the UnReal Windsurfing Tour Facebook Page:

This weekend is also the Battle(s) of Plattsburgh commemoration. During the war of 1812 a navel battle and land battle were fought on September 11, 1814. The site of the water engagement is the area we sail off of the straights (aka Rocky beach).

Coming from the south, the launch area is around 3 miles from exit 39 of Interstate 87

Made my annual trek to Lake Champlain today and what an amazing day.

Got 6 hours of sailing in at White's beach on a 4.0 with the F2 Newwave 69L and then switched later on to the 257 Mistral Eruption. Sailed solo for the first 4 hours then others showed up. Left home at 2:15 AM and was on the water by 6:15 AM and quit sailing around 12:30. Winds gusted to 50 at times in the morning and was still blowing strong when I left.

Here is a raw recording I took.

Couple of expletives when the big gust came though.
