OK, so would switching from the 145 Dialer to a 125 Wizard help with the rear foot heavy Infinity 84. I ran the 84 in C and moved the mast track back 3” and still had trouble keeping it in the air on gibes. I did not move the foot straps back.
Don’t even have the rear foot straps mounted on the board. Seems like my back foot is on the center line and between the straps. Probably spend half the time unhooked riding down swells. |

Perhaps move back foot farther back when jibing?
Or move front straps back to lessen nose weight. |

I've seen plenty of great jibers of all sizes using mast base in the forward of middle position.
While Balz is certainly good enough, he is an exception.
Body weight more than offsets mast base position.
Move back if the nose dives when you jibe. |

Moving the base back reduces pitching movements caused by changes in MBP.
Not the way you'd tune a race foil, but totally appropriate for a surfy one being cruised around with minimal power. |

tried the 84 this weekend I have been running the 76. I had my backfoot 2 or 3 inches further back both jibing and in a strait line. The 84 carried better thru large holes but overall like the 76 better. bother were with the switchfuse in the position with 4 fingers between the mast and wing.

An argument can be made for mast base forward.
To allow a more raked, thus more lifty, while going downwind.
You set up a slalom board with the track well forwards.
A freestyle setup with track well back.
On which is a jibe more important?
As a bad foiler, that's me....I favor mast track forward to slow reaction times. Track back accentuates mistakes made by beginners...and dropping off a foil qualifies as a beginner mistake. |

Looks like @kevj_541 is on a Wizard. Again, I wonder if the Dialer has too much nose weight for the 84. |

1.5 lbs. of nose weight can be offset by moving the 150lbs. + body or by changing the angle of the sail to provide more lift at the downwinding moment. |
