I am looking for advice on freewave boards to get . I have had the fanatic traditional freewaves for many years and love them however since they stopped making them I have not been impressed with the freewave stubby they came out with as I tried it in cabarete. They tended to be really bouncy in the chop, constant spin out ,even with pressure on front foot. I wish they would decrease the tail width just a little.
Any thoughts and experience on any other brands in the 95 and also 110 range? Want a board that has thruster option.
Thanks |

JP Fsw is the standard.
Most other's supply their tris with too small main fin. For power, speed, and low end, a 23+ is often needed.
Now for smooth ride, look for double concave with some depth.
For response and speed, flat with slight V.
Check mast track placement compared to your liking.
I have Jp, 3s, Naish, and RougeWave 85 liter medium high wind boards so no new ones on the horizon.
They each have good and not so.. |

I found the following reviews very helpful for 95 liter boards. If you click under the "Tests" tab and scroll to 2019, you'll see they tested 105 liter freewaves this year.

I ended up purchasing the RRD FSW 90 liter size and couldn't be happier. |

Rode a '16 RRD fsw 90 right after my same year Firewave tri.
Tri can be turned harder, uses smaller main fin, and feels livlier.
Fsw might be faster. |

Tabou 3S CLASSIC not the 3S+. Fast easy smooth and fun. Tons of great reviews on this one.... |

Seeing a lot of Goya Custom Waves in the Gorge this year. Definitely more of a "freewave" shape.
Might be worth a ride to see if you have interest.

p.s. I have no affiliation with Goya nor have I ridden one. Juts stating my impression. |
